We hope you are enjoying the summer weeks.
We are currently working on our ongoing improvement plan for the school. We are keen to see our current students inspired by those who came to Philip Morant School and College in previous years.
We would like to create as many examples as possible of Philip Morant alumni so students can see the diverse range of careers in which alumni are now working.
If you are a previous Philip Morant student, or have older children who came here, or have other contacts in the community, we would be really grateful if you share this request as widely as you can. We will also be sharing the request on social media.
We will use this information in school in displays and publications and separately (where consent is given to do so) on social media.
We have a rich history of success and we want to ensure our current students have the best opportunity to build on that.
This is a reminder that you can find our uniform requirements on our website by following this link: https://philipmorant.essex.sch.uk/parents/uniform/
When students come to site for testing this time we will be asking them to attend in uniform and will pick up any issues then with students and parents regarding any incorrect uniform. This can at times include: black trousers instead of mid grey, footwear that is not formal black shoes, skirts worn shorter than 5cm above the knee, socks worn above the knee, more jewellery or make up being worn than the policy allows.
Timetables and Tutor Groups
Student timetables will be visible on Edulink and Go4Schools from Wednesday 1st September. This will include your child’s new tutor group and tutor room as well as their sets, teachers and rooms for all of their subjects.
This is a reminder that tutor groups are changing across all year groups as each year group will have their tutor groups based in one area of the school. This is in response to positive feedback following the changes made in the last academic year.
We will be sending out more detailed arrangements about the start of term in the week of the 23rd August.
At the time of writing, our new year 7 students are enjoying their summer camp and the additional opportunity this year to have more time getting to know their new school and other students in the year group. It has been a pleasure to welcome them to the school.
We are delighted with the hard work completed by our year 11 and 13 students to complete their GCSE, BTEC and A level courses amid the disruption of the last 18 months. This has been reflected in their excellent results this summer and we are very proud of them all.
