This letter follows the ‘Advanced Notice’ that I sent to you last week.
I am very pleased to announce that we have arranged an occasion for you to meet your son/daughter’s new Form Tutor and on the same evening an opportunity for you to take part in a maths workshop. In addition to these activities, we are also offering parents/carers the chance to attend an information presentation from the Senior Leadership Team. A number of other colleagues will be available to answer any relevant questions you might have at this stage. These colleagues will be based in the House Quad and include our Heads of House and House Managers. Subject staff will not be present, but there will be full subject-based one-to-one consultations for you to attend in the Spring Term.
We would expect your son/daughter to accompany you during the evening. In general, please use the evening to ask questions or to tell us a little more about your child. However, we do not see this as the right time to discuss more complex or confidential issues. (For such matters, please contact the school at your convenience and an appointment will be made for you with an appropriate member of staff.)
Maths Workshop: Time – 4.00pm – Meet in the Main Hall

Maths Workshop: Time – 4.00pm – Meet in the Main Hall Our maths teachers are running a number of identical workshops that you can join. These workshops have been created to give you an insight into the way that mathematics is taught in Year 7 and an awareness of the content that is covered in this subject. These workshops are voluntary. However, the workshops will help you to support your child in mathematics and they have been designed to be non-threatening and to cater for those who have a nervous disposition where maths is concerned! If you would like to attend please meet the maths teachers in the Main Hall at the time shown above – also, please indicate this on the electronic reply below.
Meet the Tutor: Each tutor will be based in a separate room and you will be able to meet with him/her at the time shown above. A number of other parents and their children will also attend the same meeting. For your information each tutor will run two meetings during the evening in order to help us manage the large number of parents that we expect to be present. Each meeting will cover the same content.
Information Presentation: Members of the Senior Leadership Team will deliver a presentation covering key areas for parents.
House Quad area: «PreferredForename»’s Head of House, «HeadofHouse», and House Manager, «HouseManager», will be available in the House Quad area from 3:45pm – 5:45pm. If you wish to see either of these colleagues please be aware that we are not scheduling appointments for them so some queuing/waiting might occur.
Please complete the electronic responses by Monday, 30th September. If you are the parent to twins in year 7 and would like to discuss these arrangements with us, please call the school. Should you be unable to attend please contact the school and we will be happy to answer any questions you may have. We look forward to meeting you.
