We are currently reviewing the guidance produced yesterday by the DfE but will expect the following to be in place for September:
We are planning to open full time for all students, details for the arrangements for all students for the start of term will follow.
We do expect students to wear uniform. In light of that we would value your support for families who would benefit from the opportunity to have access to second-hand uniform. The Essex Uniform exchange runs in Colchester. If you have outgrown uniform or your child is leaving the school this year, we would value your support in delivering this to the uniform exchange. If you need new uniform items for September, then please see their Facebook page for details of their opening times and locations.
If your child has been working from work packs sent home over this time. Please can you return the work to school if possible, by Friday 10th July. Please sort into subjects and clearly mark the first page with the child’s name and tutor group using some form of joining the papers in each subject together. We will then give this work to their teachers from September for the teacher to look over and see the level of work that has been completed and areas to review with the class in September’s teaching.
If your child has been loaned a device during this time, please can you return this by Thursday 15th July so we can restock for September. If your child is in year 10 and needs to extend the loan of the device over the summer for additional study and revision, then please let us know using the email@example.com email address.
We will be clearing out and resetting classrooms in readiness for September. We have not been able to return books to students this year for the end of the academic year. If you or your child really need their exercise book from this academic year, then please CLICK HERE by Friday 10th July. The exercise books will be returned to their tutor for collection in September.
This week staff will be recording scores for engagement in remote learning, work packs or work in school. These will be sent to you as part of the standards score at the end of term.
We will be publishing on our website over the next two weeks a list for each year 10 subject on what work should have been completed during this closure period to enable those students who have not been able to complete all of this to catch up over the summer. We won’t have teachers monitoring google classrooms or work submitted over the summer holidays, so this is independent work to make sure everything has been covered.
